Cryptography

The field of Cryptography primarily deals with encryption and decryption of data in order to secure it. The process of encryption refers to altering human-readable data into garbled, scrambled form so that its meaning cannot be deciphered or understood, making it hard to breach. Whereas decoding refers to converting the encoded data into plain or human-readable data. Several algorithms such as AES, DES, etc. and other techniques of varied magnitude and complexity are applied to ensure data confidentiality. Cryptology is a sub-area of Network or Cyber Security.
